Opposing proposed land use at Chandler & Club Course

Created by Sarah H.
This petition is to support the residents of Hawk Hollow and their request to the Bath Township Planning Commission and Bath Township Board of Supervisors to deny, reject, and turn down the proposed development by applicant Smithers and his company for the following reasons: The proposal conflicts with the residential nature of our neighborhood. It is not residential and proposes uses and structures that clash with residential use. The proposed structures include a storage shed or pole barn which involves heavier construction vehicles coming and going in a residential area. The pole barn is adjacent to a family home east of the structure. There are at least 12 homes within 100 yards of the pole barn location. Installation of a berm, trees or other camouflage will not negate the effect, noise, dust, and other problems that accompany delivery vehicles in and out of the neighborhood.  Since there are no sidewalks on Club Course Drive, we walk our children, grandchildren, and pets on the street. It is both dangerous and distracting to allow non-residential vehicles to traverse this street. Unlike owner vehicles, our association has no ability to warn or sanction drivers who misuse the street or exceed the speed limit. The bylaws of the Landings prohibit sheds, storage barns, pole barns or other structures for a good reason. They are not harmonious with a residential neighborhood and depress property values. The 8+ acres owned by the Conleys was recently rezoned to increase residential development from single family home to duplexes. We believe the parcel, in its entirety, should be harmonious with the residential nature of this street and not commercial or semi-industrial in nature.
