Justice for Steven Tryon

Justice for Steven Tryon
We, the undersigned, demand justice for Steven Tryon, a beloved member of our community who was brutally taken from us. Steven was a kind, selfless man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He came from a good family and touched the lives of many with his compassion and generosity. His untimely death has left a void in the hearts of his friends, family, and the community that will never be filled.

On behalf of Steven, we call on the Fulton County District Attorney, Micheal Poulin, and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office to take immediate action to ensure the perpetrators are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Currently, the charges against Anastasia Lott and Stephen Dingman—tampering with evidence for Lott and first-degree assault as well as criminal possession of a weapon for Dingman—are woefully inadequate. These charges fail to reflect the severity of their actions, which resulted in Steven’s death after he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The undersigned demand that the prosecution elevate the charges against Anastasia Lott and Stephen Dingman to first-degree premeditated murder under New York Penal Law §125.27. If the prosecution disagrees with this charge, we demand the following:

1. A full and detailed explanation of why first-degree premeditated murder is not deemed an appropriate charge.

2. A detailed justification for why the current charges—tampering with evidence and first-degree assault—are appropriate given the circumstances.

3. An assessment of alternative charges that could be pursued, along with descriptions of the legal elements of those charges.

4. Complete transparency with Steven Tryon's immediate family, including access to all evidence in this case and a document that explains how the evidence supports the charges pursued.

We also request that this matter be resolved promptly. We set a reasonable deadline of 30 days for the Fulton County District Attorney's Office and the Sheriff's Office to meet these demands. Failure to act decisively will not only erode public trust in the judicial system and law enforcement but also send a message of indifference to the community that is grieving Steven's loss.

New York State Penal Law, including §125.27 (first-degree murder) and other relevant statutes, supports the pursuit of justice in cases like this. It is imperative that the charges reflect the true nature of the crime and that the community sees justice served.

Steven Tryon’s friends, family, and the local community deserve better. The lack of swift and decisive action undermines faith in our judicial system and law enforcement. We will not stand by as this injustice persists.

Please join us in demanding accountability and justice for Steven Tryon. Together, we can ensure that his memory is honored and that the perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
