Governor Landry's hand-picked president of New Orleans's flood protection board must be replaced immediately.
We learned today that the president of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East––Peter Vicari––allowed its embattled police chief to draft his own employment contract.
If that contract had been paid out, Joshua Rondeno could have collected up to $910,000 in severance pay, as much as Fortune 500 executives. In addition, the contract that was signed violates state law by paying the Rondeno more than the Louisiana State Superintendent of Police.
These revelations are in addition to the drama that's played out in the past two years, including seven board members' resignations and a nearly 50% increase in the flood control agency’s police force.
This nonsense needs to stop now. Hurricane season is just weeks away!
Add your name and send a letter to Governor Landry asking him to replace President Vicari now. A copy will go to his Press Secretary and his Communications Director.
