On June 24th, 2022, six of nine Supreme Court Justice's voted to strip the rights of millions. The rights that not only secured the liberty to abortion, but the liberty of privacy. This ruling will carry an irrefutable weight that will leave the country with the reassurance that the U.S. is no longer a symbol of democracy, but of fascism in which the consent of the minority governs the majority. Twelve states have total abortion bans. Five states have varying time-based restrictions. Some states still express the motive to restrict the right to choose, such as Virginia's Governor lobbying the General Assembly into banning abortion. Children are expected to not only not get sexually assaulted but to live and raise the child of their rapist. A sad example is the story of the ten-year-old who was sexually assaulted and had no choice but to cross state lines to get an abortion. Abortion is now some game of chess to republican lawmakers who use 'morality' and 'maturity' to incorporate the lives of many into political pawns, whose stories are merely presented as irresponsible childish behavior. We are petitioning the Governor of Virginia to end his self-demeaning lobbying pursuits to ban abortion in Virginia and to not sign any bill into law that will in any way further restrict abortions in Virginia.
