Tragedies at American schools are increasing, and men's power and security continue to fail every time. For example, in 2018, we sadly experienced a violent episode here in Marion County, Florida, where a young man freely entered Forest High School with a gun and shot at a closed classroom door. Our children and youth deserve the opportunity to have a message of HOPE available to them in their schools, not as an obligation but as a free option. There is encouragement and protecting love in Psalm 91, and WE MUST NOT DENY THIS OPTION TO OUR CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!! Psalm 91’s research in American history shows: "According to the story, a commander in the US Army's 91st Infantry Division gave each soldier a card with the 91st Psalm printed on it. Soldiers took the cards into battle with the hope of being kept safe. When the actor Jimmy Stewart enlisted in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, his father gave him a letter and enclosed a copy of the same Psalm. Over time, Psalm 91 has become known as the "Soldier's Psalm." Even in recent years, American troops in Iraq have been known to read it before going on patrol." My Petition: I suggest having posts of Psalm 91 written in English and Spanish on every classroom door in our schools to offer the students the option to read these powerful words as it is needed as a free choice.
